Krishti Crafts is a brainchild of Dipak Biswas, who is a graduate from Calcutta University. It was started earlier when he used to be a sales man in a jewellery shop at SWABHUMI (Kolkata). He always felt in his heart to create something towards a careeristic entrepreneurship. His interest was in making of jewellery with his own hand. As a result he took over that shop in 2006 at SWABHUMI. It was the beginning of his pathway towards the world of handicrafts manufacturing, which is a very positive sector in India. Very next year he created some special crafts to participate in the West Bengal State Handicraft Award and appreciated. In these days Krishti Crafts is a matured entrepreneurship in the field of handcrafted jute and paddy jewellery manufacturing. Products created by Krishti Crafts are world class and being sold all over.
The making of jute jewellery is an empowered skill developed by Dipak Biswas. And his skill, flowing in his workers are now on a height. Almost 30 men and women are feeding their own family by working with Krishti Crafts. Workers are engaged as contractual and some are permanent. There are also many merchants who are generating income indirectly by selling jewelries.
Krishti Crafts jewellery are now being produced at Michael Nagar workshop (Madhyamgram – Kolkata). The workshop is permanent construction spread across 2 cottah field with electricity. The average production capacity is 1000 piece per month, however in peak season this number rises dramatically.
Dipak Biswas has been selected for special award in 2008 in West Bengal State Handicraft Competition Jute category and in the year 2009 and 2012 he took First position in his category by creating the excellent jute jewellery. Krishti Crafts exhibited many times in West Bengal State Handicraft Fair, KOLKATA INDUSTRIAL TRADE FAIR, Mega International Trade Fair (ScienceCity), GIFTEX (Mumbai, Bangalore) and India International Trade Fair (Delhi). They also participated in many exhibitions in Guwahati, Bangalore, Shilong, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Indore etc.
